~ The Story ~

An inspired tale brought about by a night of debaucheries and mind bending substances. Spawned from the creative minds of Max Michaels and Nathanael Thorin comes a true character… The Faerie Peril.

Long steeped in the local club culture of Jacksonville Florida, the duo found themselves witness and quite willing participants to a private after-party hosted by a local promoter for his guest DJ. The DJ was lead vocalist for two of the 90’s staple bands Jane’s Addiction and Porno for Pyros - Perry Farrel. The party lasted long into the wee hours of the morning and a good time was had by all. Mr. Farrel’s unique personality, flirty schmooziness and general antics left a lasting impression on the small group of party attendees. Including the star of Saturday Night Seduction - Ravynn.

Later that year while Nathanael and Max were shopping in SMASH MUSIC inside Jax Beaches hub of hip - Carribbean Connection - they spied a poster for the latest and least heard of solo release by Perry Farrel. Max, with his dyslexia in high gear, pointed it out to Nathan and said "Look, Ferry Parrel has a new disc out." Nathanael paused and looked at Max with an inquisitive glare. "Fearie Peril?" he asked. A legend was born. The rest of that day was spent envisioning the character, partly based on an original film concept involving Faeries and Nymphs that lived in a 24hr laundromat, and partly a twisted and whimsical parody of the personality and party character of Perry Farrel made the little Faerie come to life.

In the months that followed the duo wrote and sketched, built puppets, drew up backgrounds and storyboards. Amid the daily grind always finding time to chip out a moment or two to make this project into a reality.

So it happens that one day they finished. It took long and grief stricken hours of oppressive direction, added and deleted scenes, and long waits for promised soundtrack samples. After discovering the lucious instrumental samples they could pull from the Grim Faeries CD "Disenchanted Forest" and a haunting and as of yet untitled track by Jax locals Sex Crime Of The Sintury, the short film was finally complete.

Cell Division Films humbly presents their first short film – "Faerie Peril."

Media guru Max Michaels and digital alchemist Nathanael Thorin.

Both highly acclaimed visual artists of varying media. Also responsible for MOVEMENT magazine, Gallery Negative Zero, FREQUENCIES records, MT Comics, SEDUCTION Nights Fetish events,  FACTORY nightlife, and Cell Division Films.

Both currently live and work in Jacksonville Florida.
